Solid start in Dubai

Solid start in Dubai

I'm happy with my performance at the Challenge Dubai, not with result.

At least I moved up from 13th to 11th after Terenzo Bozzone, Manuel Küng, Michael Raelert, Ben Collins and Andy Potts got a 4 minute penalty post race for short-cutting the bike course by accident.

This could have even resulted in a DQ but the jury decided like that after several pros who saw it turned in protest. I didn't as I was not there as it happend.

SWIM

Was super tough. Probably the roughest one I've ever experienced. The course even got changed to a two loop swim due to very windy conditions.

BIKE

Everybody was suffering on the bike. But I felt great on my Falco V and the new set-up from the beginning and smashed the second fastest bike-split in 2:04:31 pushing 350 avg watts, just 1:46 behind Martin Jensen. Can't wait to see the SRM power file analysis.

RUN

Off the bike my legs felt a bit rusty. But that's kind of normal for the first race after winter break, isn't it? But the Weiss engine opened up on the second half oft he run. I finished strong, almost catching Joe Gambles at the end.

A solid sesaon opener is in the books. Onward - focus is already set on my first A-race. This will be announced soon.
